Karen Bennett is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, teaching and researching in the field of Translation Studies. She has also taught at the University of Coimbra (Oct.07-Feb.15), Bissata-Barreto Institute of Higher Education (Feb.05-Sept.06) and Catholic University of Portugal, Viseu (Oct.94-Sept.05).
She has been living in Portugal since 1985, working for many years as a freelance translator, translator trainer and teacher of academic writing. Between 1992 and 2000, she managed her own language agency in Coimbra (Poliglota Serviços Linguísticos).
